What is really amazing about online reviews is the level of trust that comes from those reviews.  Brightlocal did a study and they found that 79 percent of customers trust online reviews and they trust them more than they do an editorial about a business written in a major media channel. Regardless of what type of business you have, your potential customers are going online and researching your reputation. You can do a Google search and find your reviews online, however it is much more than Google reporting on your company’s reputation. Business directories and or citation sites are also are collecting data on what is being said about your company. Do a Google search for a particular business and one of three things happen. You either notice the company has no reviews, a few reviews, or more than 10. The reason I say more than 10 reviews is because research is showing that a company must have at least 10 reviews, for those reviews to be considered trustworthy. Many companies search online and find they have no reviews. They mistakenly believe that this is a good thing, when in fact it is not. To be considered trustworthy Have 1. No reviews, 2.) A few reviews, or 3.) More than 10 reviews. Some companies have no reviews and believe that is a good thing, it is not. Research is showing that company must have at least 10 reviews to be considered trustworthy.
